About Anthony “Swazi” Atkinson
Anthony Atkinson is a military veteran author whose life experiences shaped the stories he tells today.
Born in Wilmington, North Carolina, in 1954, he grew up during a time when racial tension and social barriers defined daily life. Sports opened his first opportunity. Basketball scholarships carried him to Brevard College and later Georgia State University.
In 1977, he joined the United States Marine Corps and trained as an aircraft mechanic. After four years of service, he continued his military career in the United States Air Force as an aerospace ground equipment specialist.
His work with aircraft continued long after his military years. Anthony spent decades in aviation maintenance, working with major airlines and later training the next generation of aviation technicians.
Writing came later. The experiences he carried—discipline from the military, lessons from adversity, and reflections shaped by faith—eventually found their way onto the page.
Today, readers encounter those stories through the books by Anthony Atkinson.
